Afternoon run around a short loop near Maggie's apartment in Durham. I definitely am not in great shape, but hopefully it will come back. I used to hear students at Calvin talk about going for a 2 mile run and I wondered how it was even worth getting sweaty for that short run, but now I'm running een shorter than that.
I've rolled both of my ankles since I last did any serious running. The left one was over the summer on my DC bike trip. That ankle feels fine, but my arch has been hurting ever since, and continued to be sore today. Hopefully running and stretching will get it to loosen back up. I did some serious massaging on it after the run, and it feels way better at least for now. The right one happened on or near my birthday at a trampoline park. That ankle was still a little sore and does not have good flexability. It is the same one I've rolled many many times since I was 16. I tried to stretch it, but there isn't much stretching to be done. It just moves normally until it can't move any more and pushing more makes it hurt. Instead I've resorted to massaging. Hopefully it will heal like it has in the past, but I'm finding that I don't heal well now that I'm really really old.
