Well, I turned twenty-four years old. That sounds like a pretty high number. Here are some of the pics.
For thanksgiving this year, I invited two of my friends from the University of Toledo to join our family for a few days. Aditya and Tejas are both from India, but from different parts of the country. We hung out, played games, slept in, and had fun.
Last Saturday (5 November 2011) Steph and I hosted a party at our apartment. We each invited some of our friends, and ended up with the apartment full to capacity, but not overcrowded. It was a pretty good turn out. Around 11:30pm the police showed up saying they had a noise complaint. They were super cool about it and didn't even ask for any ID's. So we killed the radio and shut the window, and a few people went home. Everyone thought it was no big deal -- and we were right. But, on Monday morning, one of our neighbors left a note on our door telling us how she really felt.
I spent August 18th to 24th on a road trip from Huron, OH to Miami, FL with my sister. We I drove through the night on Thursday, and we stayed Friday in South Carolina with Beth. Then headed on to Miami for Sarah to start school.
The Warrior Dash was one of the crazier races I've run. It was in Lake Elsinore, CA, and was just shy of 5k. A few of us went down to give it a go, and see if we could conquer the many obstacles that were throughout the course. I was hoping in the back of my mind to win this race, but I ended up taking 11th place overall. I could have potentially done a little better if I hadn't made a wrong turn, but I'm pretty happy with 11th.
Some of these photos were taken professionally and still have watermarks... I don't feel bad about that.
I recently started writing a treatment of dimensionality. As I have been slowly working through the writing process I have discovered several other interesting questions and problems that need to be solved before I can continue. I want to share one of those problems with you here, and perhaps others will follow.
This is my 1965 mustang restoration project. It is running and drivable, and with a small amount of love it will be road-ready. I've had the car for about a decade, and it has come a very long way since I got it. I was fixing it up to be a daily driver, but it took a long time, and while it has been out on the road, I've never had it out on a regular basis. The body is painted, and rust-free, but a little dinged up. The interior is almost entirely complete, but there is a small hole in the headliner.
For the first time in a while, I find myself inspired to write an issue-related blog. Maybe my inspiration stems from the time of day, or maybe it's the fact that I've been running again lately, but most likely it's the events that went down earlier tonight. Here's the back story.
I figured I should kick off the new year the right way by publicly announcing the things that I resolve to do better during 2011. And now, three weeks later, I'm finally getting around to doing it :) Although this list is coming almost a month into the new year, I have had these resolutions in mind since the beginning of the year, and so far I've stuck to them pretty well. I'll edit this blog entry periodically to give status updates on each of the items in the list.
